Syukur alhamdulillah. The preview day went well. Although a bit chaotic since I underestimated the number of people coming. But alhamdulillah for the turn out.
Unfortunately I wasn't in the pink of health but I've managed to squeeze what voice I have left to conduct the session yesterday. I'm paying the price today but it's all worth it.
We started the session with Al-fatihah recitation and of course the 'Good morning' song. We had the taaruf session using the rolling ball activitiy. I've also decided to use the 'My Body' topic for the preview session. I used the "My Body" book and actions for them to name the bodyparts.
It is expected that the kids are shy and some seem not willing to participate but when the rhythm sticks came out everyone happily played with the sticks. I've decided to use the "we are muslims" song for the kids to hit the sticks to.
I have to admit the arts and crafts were a bit chaotic due to the number of people came and the lack of stationeries (this will be recitified soon) But with a maximum of 10 kids in a session it would be more managable. I think yesterday we had around 12 or 13 kids.
The kids were engrossed with the colouring and when I announced that a star would be stamped on the finished product they were excited to show me and willingly name the body parts.
I wanted to do the 'walking, walking' song as the physical activity for the day but time did not permit me to do so. For story time I've decided to use the book "who is ALLAH" which I think complements the sesi taaruf that we had earlier in the session. The session ended with stickers for everyone and syukur alhamdulillah 7 parents have reserved their spots for the upcoming classes.
I would like to thank those who came and my apologies for any shortcomings. I welcome all your comments to make the session more enjoyable and beneficial to all.
I hope to see everyone soon!!!!
